2020 Annual Business Meeting Minutes

January 26, 2020

 

The Ridgecrest Calvary Assembly of God Annual Business Meeting was called to order by Board Vice Chairman Frank Alonge at 5:03 pm on January 26th, 2020.  Frank opened the meeting with some remarks and greeting to those in attendance at the Ridgecrest campus as well as those viewing the live stream connection from the Lone Pine campus.  Board Secretary Jason Allen confirmed a full quorum was present.

Pastor Heather Urich led the congregation in a devotional reading from the scripture in Psalm 126:1-3, praising God from bringing his people out of captivity.  The members worshipped and praised the Lord with two songs led by Moriah Muncy.

Frank invited the other Board members to the stage and introduced them to the members and attendees.  Frank recognized the efforts of the many volunteers that contribute to the ministry at RCA, thanking them for their dedication and hard work.

Jason Allen, Secretary offered to read aloud the Minutes of the 2019 Annual Business Meeting or to allow the attendees to read the minutes themselves.  By show of hands the attendees elected to read the minutes themselves.  M/S/C to accept the 2019 Annual Business Meeting Minutes (unanimous).  Mike Freese, Treasurer gave the 2019 Financial Report.  M/S/C to accept the 2019 Financial Report (unanimous).  Frank Alonge gave a summary report of the baptism and salvation numbers from the Pastoral Report, and encouraged the attendees to read through all of the ministry reports in detail.

Jason introduced Allen Strickland as the new Board member.  Allen Strickland was ratified as the new board member.  Frank announced that Debbie Nelson would be the new Board Vice Chairman.

Rich Merati, building project manager reported on the progress of the new building project.  Rich recognized the many volunteers who had contributed labor to the construction effort, as well as those contributing financially through their pledges.  Rich reported that it was his goal to complete construction to allow use of the facility for the 2020 Christmas services, and that additional financial and labor is needed to accomplish this.  Rich shared one of the recent miracles God has worked to reduce the financial cost of the project.

The Board read a prepared statement regarding the Pastoral selection process and took additional questions from the attendees on this and other items in the 2019 report.

Debbie Nelson shared some closing remarks and made an announcement on the faith promises received for the 2020 Missions giving this morning, stating that we had nearly reached our goal of $40k in total commitments.

Karla Dunn led the congregation in a prayer over the church and the selection of the new Pastor.  Pastor Heather closed in prayer.  Frank adjourned the meeting at 6:17 pm.
